I spent the day (Sunday) co-hosting a bridal shower for my lovely sister. The day turned out magical (my sister’s face lit up as she entered the party!) and the day truly was everything that I hoped it would be!
We decided on a light pink theme (her wedding colour) with pink everything!! We made use of mason jars, home made tags and baby breath to help create a magical and romantic theme.
Large mason jars were used for candle holders and flower vases containing white baby breath, smaller mason jars were used for drinking cups tied with pink ribbon with hand made tags attached. A pink pen was provided for guests to write their name on their cup. You could put your cup down and not get it confused with another!
We created a cookie decorating station for the guests to decorate wedding dress shaped cookies with 3 different colours of icing, sprinkles and candy pearls. My sister picked her favourite dresses at the end of the night and the winners received a gift bag.
The beverage table consisted of rose, red and white wine, water with cucumber & lemon slices and pink lemonade with fresh lemons. The lemonade looked beautiful and was equally delicious! Coffee and tea were also served with dessert.
The dessert table was amazing, thanks to my co-host! She made homemade pink cupcakes, pink brownies and served fresh fruit alongside an assortment of pink and pretty candies and chocolates.
The buffet table consisted of fresh veggies, hummus, potato & pasta salad, meat and cheese trays, fish cakes with homemade salsa, various cold salads, figs, dates and two homemade soups-Roasted Red Pepper & Vegetable Lentil (my contribution to the food)
As I stay away from dairy, soy and gluten, my plate consisted of fresh veggies, hummus, dates, figs and fresh fruit. I also had a small bowl of each soup. The meal was delicious…I of course, had fresh berries and coffee served with coconut milk for dessert!
I will definatly post the recipes for the Roasted Red Pepper soup & Vegetable Lentil soup in the near future (they were big party hits with no leftovers). Both of the recipes were fairly simple…The veggie lentil made use of the crockpot and took less then 10 minutes to prep!
But, in the meantime, please enjoy some of the party pics!
Until next time,
Simply Hollie
