  • Presentation Is Key

20130605-103735.jpg 20130605-103838.jpgI have a little secret that turns healthy eating into fun! It’s so simple and yet can really make a clean, healthy meal turn into magic!

    Presentation!

Presentation really is key and sometimes can make or break a meal (to me anyways).

I love serving my soups in deep white, wide-brimmed bowls.  The outcome is so elegant.  I feel like my family is dining at a fancy restaurant about to dig into some classic or exotic cuisine.  The bonus, though, is that I know what all the ingredients are…healthy, allergen free and completely homemade.

If I really want to “spice it up” I add some beautiful fresh garnish to the top and it takes the meal to a new level! It may just be all in my head, and that’s ok! What matters is that meal time is fun, my family gets excited by the fantastic looking food they’re about to dig into and I’ve turned a simple meal into something great.

Meal time should be fun and make you feel happy.  Sitting around the table with loved ones, hearing about their day while you sit and admire the healthy meal you are about to share with your family is a great feeling.   If you’re on your own…what better time to sit back, relax and reflect on your day over a great meal presented beautifully! There really is something calming and satisfying about the presentation of your meal.

20130605-104317.jpg 20130605-104000.jpgA few classic white bowls, themed dishes, place mats and clean lined serving dishes can go a long way. They can turn a simple soup made from 4 ingredients look and taste like a masterpiece. It’s a little secret that is definitely worth sharing.

The pictures that I’ve added to this post make use of a few (inexpensive) white deep bowls as well as a flat white serving sheet and a small white sauce bowl.  I’m partial to white, I just love the clean fresh look that it adds to any soup or meal it holds.

I’d love to hear about any presentation ideas you may have or use at your house!

I am always looking for new ways to add a twist to a simple meal.  A meal served a hundred times looks and tastes different depending on the dish, bowl, serving platter…Presentation really is key!

    Until next time,

    Simply Hollie
