They say taste is composed of more aspects than just the flavour of the food:
- Visual – Does the food have visual appeal?
- Smell – Does the food have a favourable scent?
- Actual taste – How delicious is that first bite?
- Emotional – Are you connected to the food in any way? Whether someone special is preparing the dish, or perhaps the food is a dish served from your childhood? Connecting on some level usually elevates the taste factor. Continue reading

With the temperatures beginning to drop, I find myself remembering how wonderful a hot bowl of soup can be. Delicious root vegetables and warming spices combine into a delectable autumn meal that definitely get my taste buds roaring!

Lentil love can be profound. Rich, creamy, melt in your mouth goodness topped off with excellent nutritional value. For lentils, I’m always in.
Lentils can serve as the base for so many simple, healthy and cheap meals. You can’t get much better for a high nutrition/low cost combo. High protein, high fiber and an excellent source of iron. Power packed into every bite.
What a great way to reduce your weekly intake of meat, yet not compromise on protein. A night or two of “meat free” meals is a great way to add a little detox to your diet. Let your body have a rest from trying to digest heavy meat. Lentils are also wonderfully light on your wallet. A great two-for-one deal.
Added to soup, cooked up into a tasty Indian spiced dahl (see pic below) or added to fresh salads…the options and taste variations are endless. Continue reading

We decided on a light pink theme (her wedding colour) with pink everything!! We made use of mason jars, home made tags and baby breath to help create a magical and romantic theme. Continue reading
